Just for fun

Just a quick post for you today. Wanted to show you this card that I just made for fun. Used this little cute girl from Whipper Snapper that Lim was so kind enough to send to me.

Coloured her with my copics and added some stickles to get that extra spark.
DPs from the Swedish company Inkido - as you have seen on some of my previous cards.
(Guess I am in the Spring mood right now ;-))
Punched out some flowers and added dew drops from RoP and then the ribbon from SU.

Tried to distress the edges of the paper, but did not have the right tool for it. Which tool do you prefer when trying to make the edges a little bit more rough? Please share.

Well - tomorrow we are going to my brother-in-law's b'day party. He turns 40!
Tomorrow is also the big day in Sweden when we welcome Spring. It's called Valborg in Swedish and Walpurgis in English I think. So I will be checking in on you all later this weekend.

The key to happiness

The TIOT challenge for us this time is to use half an image on our project. How easy is that?
Well I can tell you - it's really difficult. I did not want to cut any of the images that I have from SCACD. So what should I do?

After a lot of coffee and thinking - this is what I came up with. I decided to cut Young Cathrine with friends in half with my nesties. Coloured her with my copics. Then I took my DPs from SU and cut them out as well with the nesties.

Hesitated - should I make a square card or..??? Looked at my shelfes and then I got it - It was ages ago, since I did a note book or post-it-notes-holder. Used my white coasters that I ordered from Angie Juda (she's the one that first showed me with her video-tutorials on how to make them as well). Covered the 2 pieces with DPs and then I used my bind-it-all machine (that also had not been used in ages.....shame on me ;-).

Added some drops/baubles, flowers from stash with spacers from my friend Marlene, Choc Chip Ribbon from SU as well as the sentiment rub-on and then the cute little key charm from Susana's. Voilà - project done and case solved ;-))Hope you'll like it. Please upload your projects/cards on PCP or SCS with the keyword "TIOT16".

Love story

We all love our pets - don't we? And also - the love from them is just so unconditional - right?

I'm more a dog person myself - but we had a wonderful cat called Isis when I was younger. He was sooo cute and friendly - you could not resist him.

I know that many of you love cats. That in mind and a childstory (that I read for Isac some weeks ago) inspired me to illustrate Miss Kitty. So here she is. Let me know what you think of her.

I also decided to enter her and this card for the Cupcake Craft Challenge. I have not had the time to enter many challenges these days - so finally I had some time over (Isac and hubby baking Choc Chip Muffins in the kitchen - leaving me some spare time to colour some images and play. Guess who is a very happy lady ;-)) Waiting for that cup of coffee as well.

Coloured Miss Kitty with my copics. Added some stickles on her shirt, bracelet and necklace.

Cut out the hearts with my SU punch. The square's are the heart corner shapabilities.

Ribbon - Choc Chip from SU. I also got to use my heart embossing die - that I purchased ages ago from our local shop Pysselakuten.

Vänskap som värmer

What is she saying? Well - it's Swedish for Friendship that warms(directly translated)- and that's exactly how it is to be in the SCACD Design Team. Not only the team - but also all of you that always want to play along and leave such wonderful comments for
us to be inspired by. So I would like to consider you all as my dear friends (vänner in Swedish).

Now - back to the challenge for this week - I would summarise it as "Bling it". My blings consist of Bella Baubles, Shimmerz, Heart charm, Spacers and Epoxy butterflies from stash.
Must say that Shimmerz is a wonderful product. It dries very fast - but it's also makes it difficult when you have to take pics late in the evening ;-) As you can tell by the flash reflection.

My DPs are from the Swedish Inkido, Ribbon from SU. I also got to use my SU punches to cut out the flower and the sentiment from Aud Design (yes - it's our very own Aud)

Coloured Cathrine with butterfly with my copics and I wanted it to be very subtle colours this time - to go with the Spring DPs. Cut her out and the green flower DP with my nesties.

Summer decided to extend the candle challenge that we had at RoP. I must say that all the ladies that participated made amazing candles. Wonderful! Well - now it's time for a new challenge and this time it's hosted by our sweet Susan.

The challenge is a colour challenge - Aqua, Butter Yellow and Peach.

I decided to ink up one of my TGF stamps - Rockstar Anya for the first time. I really love these one's. They are so much fun to colour.
I coloured her with my copics and cut her out with my nesties.Papers from both SU and Basic Grey Paper Pads. Ribbon from SU. Added a little button from my stash and a ticket with Live - working for both a live concert or live your life ;-)) Added some dew drops as blings.

Mini cards for you

One of my neighbours asked my why I don't start making some cards that are small enough for bouquets of flowers etc. I had not thought of that and I guess that it becomes a habit - the size that you normally make your cards for. Anyhow - I purchased some different sizes of clear envelopes at RoP and the 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 are just perfect for these kind of cards.

So here you have some that I've made. It's not easy to fit in several layers when the cards are this tiny, but I I must say that I had tons of fun. I managed to fit in some flowers and blings...hihi..

First you have these 2 with the Lockhart images

and then Ms Bumbly's Bouquet from Inky Antics - one of my very first stamps - isn't she cute?

I coloured them all with my copics - I am loving them more and more;-)

Memories and friendship

Well - it's time for another Try it out Tuesday challenge at Susana's store blog. Once again a big thank you to our sweet Suzanne for always putting a nice challenge up for us. She provided us the below sketch:

The challenge is not only a sketch challenge, but also a colour challenge: chocolate, pink and cream. A wonderful colour combo if you ask me ;-)

I decided to use a different size on my card this time - it's 5 11/16" x 4 1/4". I tried to keep the sketch for once (for those of you that know me well you know that I normally turn the sketch around a bit) - but of course I wanted to use several layers ;-) DP from my SU stash except for the cream paper with the"memories and friendship" on (that's from our local shop - Pysselakuten). Used my sandblock around each and one of them - not sure that you can see that. Chocolate Chip Ribbon from SU.

Image - well it was way toooo long ago, since I inked up my little fairy. Coloured her with copics - of course - need to practise more - so every chance I get is perfect. Added some pink and blue shimmerz for the sky behind her and on the tulips. Highlights with my white gel pen.
Finally I used my buttons (scrappers floss as well) instead of other blings ;-)

Easter celebration

Hej!

Hope you all are having a great Easter and holiday. I just wanted to post this - since I made a promise earlier - before I have my afternoon cup of coffee ;-))

So here's the finalized Easter bag with Twitty (that you saw in the previous post). It was for my cute little niece Julia and she got an Easter rabbit to hug (since she is not in the right age for candy;-)

I also wanted to show you the Eggs that I decorated for our yearly Easter egg challenge at my sister-in-law's Easter party. I decided to try my copics on the eggs, and I think it went rather fine - so please meet the Bärgman-Margitin family - the eatable version...hihi......

Also - here's a close up of the duel between my hubby Petar and his sister Anna.

The thing is - your egg should not break - so everyone is trying to prepare their eggs in different ways every year. Needed to add that this is an Orthodox traditional game (my mother-in-law is originally from Macedonia). The winner - the owner of the egg that last the longest ;-) - is assured good luck for the rest of the year. This year the winner was Kerstin - congratulations Kerstin!

Glad Påsk - Happy Easter

Just a quick post before I go into the Easter mood - that is - eating a lot of nice food and chocolate ;-) I am working with altering a bag for an Easter gift and I just thought I should share with you the image that I've illustrated for this purpose.

So - now I need to go back and work on that altered gift bag ;-)

(Sorry for the fact that the corners show - I could not alter it after I scanned the image - not much working for me today...but that's another looong story)

Spring is here

or at least - that's what we all keep hoping. I guess everyone is ready for some sun this coming weekend. What better way to celebrate Easter than out playing in the sun, enjoying that latte, feeling the heat on your skin and listen to the birds singing.......sigh....... I do hope that's what I will be doing this Easter at least.

This week (for TIOT)we should come up with a Easter or Spring project. Well - I wanted to make a card reflecting Spring, since I made the Easter kit last TIOT. So here you have Young Julia with purse - getting ready for a walk in the park in her Spring outfit with matching purse ;-)
I coloured her with my copics - and I need to tell you - I am sooo pleased with them now.
Remember - I purchased a kit of 36 sketch markers - but still complained about not having enough colours. Well - after ordering the copic bundles from Susana - well - problem solved!!
So useful and perfect (well - of course you will read soon that I need more - but that's just the way it is for us in the cardmaking business - right ;-)

Paper and DPs are from our local shop Pysselakuten. Added some crushed velvet flock (Cupcake and Limeade)on the edges around Julia, on the heart on her t-shirt and for the ribbon in her hair. Oh - I almost forgot - not sure if you can tell - but I added some smooch on her belt - to make it look more metallic and shiny.

The pink flower ribbon is from the Doodlebug Boutique trims - Cupcake.

Punched out a flower from the DP - to make the cardstock show. Added a button and Bella Bauble for the center of the flower.

Then I added some flowers to the swirls on the DP - to get the Spring feeling. The spacers is part of some goodies that I received from my sweet friend Marlene yesterday (Thank you sweetie).
